Dolce & Gabbana - work in progress 2

Hi loves,

Here is another illustration that I've created last year . Like I said in my previous post I will do my best this year to be more open (one of my New Year's resolution :)) regarding my work, what inspires me and a little bit about me in each post .
For this drawing I used ink pencils - Derwent Inktense . They are a bit pricey but they are quality pencils that last, plus they look like watercolor on paper but you can layer them easily after they dry .

For those of you who don't know a lot about me, I was born and raised in Romania and moved to the States a few years ago. I am in love with "Good Life Project" and Chase Jarvis's podcasts. I would definitely recommend these to everyone who is looking for inspiration, wise words and good answers. Sometimes is very hard to find your "tribe", especially if you are an artist, writer, blogger etc. These two podcasts gave me clarity, helped me keep my focus and made me work harder on my craft.

Dolce & Gabbana - work in progress

I started drawing probably when I was around 5 years old. Sailor Moon and nature were my main inspiration. As time passed and I got older I had to focus more on what is called "Life". Going to school, getting a job etc. So art was not a priority for a good period of time .

After a 5 year brake, I started drawing again and that's when I knew that this is it. This is my passion, my Life . I never stopped drawing and illustrating ever since.

Of course, if you look back at my very first posts you'll be able to see that my illustrations were not all that great, but they were perfect for that time and having the courage to share them publicly was the best decision I have ever made .

It takes time and focus to develop your skills and craft, so if you are thinking about starting to create art be patient. It will not happen overnight .

The illustration that I want to share with you today is a Dolce&Gabbana outfit that I worked on this past summer . It's a work in progress pic as I want to show you more of my work before it's being scanned and adjusted in the computer .

Let me know your thoughts :)

Beautiful Venice - watercolor illustration

For the last few months I took my time illustrating only what really inspired me . I love fashion and style but nature and beautiful places were always on my "To Do" list, so this is how this illustration came to life .

This actually is an illustration made out of 3 different drawings and they were all put together in Photoshop . I had the initial watercolor painting of the water and the buildings, the second one was an illustration of the sheers and the third was the paining of the tiny boats and the trees in the background .

The reason why I still draw and color traditionally using watercolor, pencils and markers is because I really like the organic feel of my work and I don't want to take that away by using Photoshop for everything . I only use it to save time and make small adjustments if necessary .

Enjoy !

For my New Year's resolution I decided to be more open regarding my work and who I am as an artist/illustrator .

In the meantime enjoy this beautiful Johanna Ortiz illustration that was created using watercolor, Copic markers and color pencils :)

Timeless beauty - fashion illustration

Timeless elegance . My favorite so far, it was a fairly quick illustration. Markers are the best way to save a lot of time :)

Une Parisienne

A very busy week just flew buy, and I am glad because I have a lot to share with you :) This fashion illustration is inspired by D&G's Vogue editorial a few years ago. I used only color pencils and I almost forgot how much time consuming that is :))

Ashi Studio 2017

Hmm, gold dress with the finest embroidery ?! YES please :)
This was a tricky project. I used 3 layers of color and almost an entire day on this illustration, probably that's why she is not smiling !

Tony Ward FW 2010- Fashion illustration

Happy Valentines Day to all of you !!! Here is a fresh post . It is actually my 2nd attempt to illustrate this dress. The first time was 2 years ago and it came out not as good as I planned . I was just not ready for such a detailed/complex dress :)
